POST FOCUS!
An exciting few days. Digital Workshop here @ Claremont last Sunday which was very successful then down to Focus on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday we had been invited to do 2, 1 hour, demonstrations on the Bowens stand. This was to accompany our exhibition of 28 images that Bowens were displaying. From all reports received it seems to have been a great success especially the 5 images from our White Nudes Portfolio. Monika was our model for both days and although we only met her just before the first demonstration she was delightfully easy to work with and VERY patient with all of the photographers whose sole aim in life seemed to be to fill as many cards as possible in the shortest time that was available to them! Today we are posting a few images from the sessions and if we have time will try an post more tomorrow. Focus is always a wonderful opportunity to meet old friends and to make new friendships and this year was no exception. Special thanks go to our kind and generous sponsors, BOWENS, KUBOTA,FOTOSPEED etc. good luck to Michael from Kubota who is embarking on a new venture which sounds exciting and challenging. All of the images below were shot on the BOWENS stand using a D700 with an 85mm prime lens. All of today’s images were shot with just 1 BOWENS light with either a softbox or the Fresnel spot.
This is my favourite image. We had always intended to create 1920′s/30′s classic Hollywood portraits and Monika’s face and hairstyle perfectly suited the style of images we had envisaged.

One of Faye’s images. Faye built the headdress on Monika using some net tulle that we had brought with us. Sometimes the more simple the more stunning!

This was taken at the start of the session when I was trying to demonstrate that you can produce a beautiful portrait simply using 1 light and softbox.

Faye also captured the full length of her creation by wrapping material around Monika to give the impression of a wedding dress.
The material was moved around in photoshop which has given a realistic effect. Again using just the ONE Bowens head and the FRESNEL SPOTLIGHT.

One of my favourite images from all the sessions. Very 1930′s.

I think these photos are beautiful. You now have me wanting a fresnel spotlight. Will my wish list ever end?
I also love how clever Faye is with fabric. So simple yet so effective.
Once again, I am in awe of your talent and skill.
Sincerely,
Christina

Thank you everyone, it was good fun, but hard work trying to control the masses with cameras. Couldn’t get through to them that they would learn more and absorb what we were showing them if they just watched quietly.
Christina treat yourself……..Birthday perhaps xx
