POST FOCUS!
An exciting few days. Digital Workshop here @ Claremont last Sunday which was very successful then down to Focus on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday we had been invited to do 2, 1 hour, demonstrations on the Bowens stand. This was to accompany our exhibition of 28 images that Bowens were displaying. From all reports received it seems to have been a great success especially the 5 images from our White Nudes Portfolio. Monika was our model for both days and although we only met her just before the first demonstration she was delightfully easy to work with and VERY patient with all of the photographers whose sole aim in life seemed to be to fill as many cards as possible in the shortest time that was available to them! Today we are posting a few images from the sessions and if we have time will try an post more tomorrow. Focus is always a wonderful opportunity to meet old friends and to make new friendships and this year was no exception. Special thanks go to our kind and generous sponsors, BOWENS, KUBOTA,FOTOSPEED etc. good luck to Michael from Kubota who is embarking on a new venture which sounds exciting and challenging. All of the images below were shot on the BOWENS stand using a D700 with an 85mm prime lens. All of today’s images were shot with just 1 BOWENS light with either a softbox or the Fresnel spot.
This is my favourite image. We had always intended to create 1920’s/30’s classic Hollywood portraits and Monika’s face and hairstyle perfectly suited the style of images we had envisaged.

One of Faye’s images. Faye built the headdress on Monika using some net tulle that we had brought with us. Sometimes the more simple the more stunning!

This was taken at the start of the session when I was trying to demonstrate that you can produce a beautiful portrait simply using 1 light and softbox.

Faye also captured the full length of her creation by wrapping material around Monika to give the impression of a wedding dress.
The material was moved around in photoshop which has given a realistic effect. Again using just the ONE Bowens head and the FRESNEL SPOTLIGHT.

One of my favourite images from all the sessions. Very 1930’s.

PAYING ATTENTION
This shows that somebody was paying attention and taking notes at our platform presentation at January’s SWPP Convention.

BACK TO WORK
We have been at the annual Convention in London for the last week so that’s the reason for the distinct lack of posts! Normal service should now been resumed. Lots to speak about from last week apart from Faye’s eyesight, my food poisoning and falling out of the shower narrowly missing cracking my skull open on the marble washbasin and more notably winning 3 of the top awards which were presented at the Awards Dinner last night.
However, first things first. We have brought back the last 22 of our Classic Nude calendars which we are now offering at £15 each inclusive of P&P in the UK or + £5 for overseas shipping. Payment by cheque or Paypal.

THE YEAR AHEAD
2010 promises to be an exciting and challenging year for all of you who are involved in the wedding and portrait market and our Mentoring Programme is being devised with that specific challenge in mind. So if you are tired of feeling like one of the crowd and seminars and workshops are not giving you the attention you need or covering the aspects of business you need help with then why not spend a day with Trevor & Faye and get the one-on-one you need to succeed! We will also be launching a new web based Mentoring Programme in the Spring available to all but more of that later.

POSTS
As we are currently snowed in, trees and hedges down with the weight of so much snow then there will be limited posts between now and January as I will be busy tidying up. We are delighted that Fotospeed have agreed to sponsor several large exhibition images for display at the SWPP Convention in January. Now all I have to do is organise the mounts, frames and easels to display them on! Hope you are all keeping warm and happy?

2010
Apologies for not posting in the past couple of days but we have been deeply involved in developing a new and exciting programme for 2010 more of which soon.
2010 promise to be an exciting year for us with seminars and workshops in the UK and overseas and a possible exhibition which we are in the process of finalising.
