Dear Trevor & Faye
I arrived home safe and sound late last night so I thought I would send you an e-mail this morning to say thank you so much for giving me such a wonderful day with you both on Sunday, without question it is the best course I have ever been on, I learnt so much.  You gave us all time to shoot, and gave great advice and assistance where and when needed.
The business side was informative too with some really great ideas (and I look forward to receiving the information via e-mail from that section of the day) as was the  Photoshop session at the end of the day.
You have a very beautiful home so I want to say a big thank you for letting us use your personal space and for the lovely lunch provided.

As I mentioned in an earlier post we are about to publish a book that is devoted entirely to the Business, the Marketing and the Branding of Wedding Photography. It will obviously be illustrated with some of our favourite images but the core of the book is about the Business side of the industry. A quote I made several years ago and recently re-discovered and sent on to me by a photographer;

“The photography element of any wedding, is the end result of the process which starts with the marketing & branding of your business.”

With over 100 pages packed full of priceless information this a must have book and will be available in August, date to be confirmed.

Faye and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 days as guest speakers from Venice Albums in London and Manchester. Despite the 3 flights and the early start on Monday, I never knew that 3.45am existed, we met some wonderful people at both venues and I even have my own small fan club in the North West it seems. As they are 3 girls I am thinking of calling them ‘Trevor’s Angels”

Thanks must go to Francesco and Bruno from VA and also to Steve from the Guild of Photographers who arranged the 2 events. One thing that did become clear to me was the need to take our many years of experience, the Power Point on the Business of Weddings, expand on it slightly more and produce a book that can be used as a reference for photographers. We did think about a DVD or video download but neither were attractive to us for several reasons the most important one was a book can be taken and read anywhere you do not need to be at a screen or online. Also a book can be referred to time and time again, I know you can replay a DVD or a download but somehow I feel that words written in black and white are more accessible and people react more positively to them. The other options require you to write down ideas or tips or remember them and that is not the object of what we want to do. We want to help photographers by making available our vast knowledge of the wedding industry built up over the years. The book will cover Business Strategy, Marketing, Branding and Promotion and much, much more. It will be illustrated with some of our work.  Publication date will be mid/end of August but will be in a better position by next week to announce dates and price.

Dates for our next series of workshops will be announced over the next few days. Lighting & Posing, Boudoir Academy, Marketing & Promotions and of course our last SHOOT IN THE CITY for 2011.
