MORE FROM MAUNSEL
Today we have a 4 more images from Maunsel and I especially love this image of Faye’s which though, unusual for us, is in colour. I just love the way Christiane’s body jumps from the paper.

Another of Faye’s images with some of the Kubota actions applied.

Now one of mine taken at the end of the day of Christiane followed by one of Lozie. I just love that relationship in texture.

At Maunsel House there are so many bedrooms hidden away that most delegates fail to find every room. This room is one of my favourites as I just love the window and the way Lozie fits so wonderfully into the frame.

MAGIC @ MAUNSEL HOUSE
Well yesterday saw the last of our Classic Nude workshops for 2009 held in the house and grounds of the stunning Maunsel House in North Somerset.
We had one of the best groups ever on this workshop and Faye and I hope they had an enjoyable day and discovered that our workshops are not only about learning from us but more importantly learning and discovering from themselves and their fellow delegates.
We try to adopt a gently teaching approach, which allows delegates to take the ideas and suggestions and then allow themselves to develop and explore those ideas further and to see where they take them. It’s all about exploring and having an open mind that will allow ideas to develop and evolve.
These are workshops where everybody, including us, come away having gained something from the day.
As always we had the delightful Lozie and Christiane for the day and they both worked brilliantly indoors and out while the Maunsel House staff catered for us in their usual calm and discreet manner, which is always such a relief to us to know that the venue is almost like a second home.
It was a long drive back to Edinburgh but we got home just before midnight.
Here are the first 4 images from the day, 2 of mine first followed by 2 of Faye’s.

NAKED RUINS
We have nearly finished the layout for our VICTORIA’S SUMMER book so more news and how to purchase your copy, next week. It will be a Limited Edition book , 30 pages with around 60 images signed by ourselves and also Victoria.
Today’s image was made 20 or so years ago using a 10×8 plate camera and a 1930’s Dagor 12″ lens. Still one of our favourite images.

BRIDAL GOWN
No real reason for posting this image which I took of our bride at Lake Como a couple of weeks ago. I saw out the corner of my eye Faye post pocessing the image and loved what she had done with a Kubota action.

THE CLASSIC NUDE WORKSHOP
Next week sees the last Classic Nude workshop we will be hosting in the UK. As always we will be down at the delightful Maunsel House in North Somerset with 2 of our favourite models, Lozie and Christiane.
I would like to discuss why some photographers appear to think that wearing outfits to wedding with their company branding on them is clever or is all they are doing is hijacking the Bride and Groom’s special day and using it as a forum for some free advertising? All I can say is that I find it very distasteful and discourteous. If they are that desperate why not take some business cards along for anybody who asks for one, though I doubt they ever will! However I think I have said enough and to be honest I am almost past caring…… but can I ask that we please present ourselves as a stylish, fashionable profession that has high standards of etiquette.

BRODICK CASTLE
We spent the weekend over on Arran for the wedding of Neil + Rhona. This is one of my favourite images from the day.

LAKE COMO WEDDING
More later but this is the first image from our recent wedding over at Bellagio on Lake Como. Stunning bride and groom, fabulous venue, excellent catering and warm weather what more can you ask for?

2010 SWPP Convention
Delighted to say that we are the first to sell out a Superclass at next years Convention in London. Even beating our Australian and American cousins!!
